Where will your club be in 2020?

·         The Government and Sport England have both published new strategies in the space of six months which will have a significant impact on the future of community sport in the voluntary sector.
·         London Sport are seeking a million new active participants in London by 2020.
·         The changes brought about by the new relationship between the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the London Borough of Wandsworth will have implications for the management and delivery of community sport in Richmond.
·         These changes in policy and the shift towards the support of wider health and social outcomes have implications for the voluntary sports sector and cannot be achieved without a credible partnership.
·         The meeting will address issues around sport clubs and the wider health and social benefits, a club’s capacity to grow and be sustained, social media and promotion, small grants programmes and volunteers. We also want to hear from you about how you are planning to sustain and grow your club in this context and how Sport Richmond can help?

There will be details of recent awards to sport under the borough Civic Pride Fund and information about how to apply for future funding.

Lawrence Roots from London Sport will speak about the Sportivate grant programme which is available to voluntary clubs.

Chris Jones will talk about the links between sport and public health and a project for the voluntary sector clubs.

There will be a number of examples of good practice and a chance to learn and share.

RSVP please to Frances Wetherall (secretary@sportrichmond.org) or Andy Sutch (andy.sutch@btconnect.com) by Friday 10 June 2016 at the latest.
